Frequently asked questions

Can we request specific shots or poses?

Of course! I am your photographer and endeavour to meet all of your photography related needs, whether these are formal group shots, specific couples poses, photos of your decor and details, or simply getting as many candid photos as possible!

Do you offer film photography?

Yes! This is an optional add-on which includes a second photographer solely dedicated to capturing your day on film. The type of equipment used can vary but typically includes a Canon F1 or AE1 with Kodak film.

The pre-wedding shoot will be my first photoshoot and I’m nervous!

I totally understand, and have been in your shoes! My style is natural and candid, and I will help to direct you so you feel relaxed.

After the pre-shoot couples are usually surprised how much fun they had and are no longer nervous about the wedding day photos!

What should I wear for the pre-wedding photoshoot?

My photoshoots are usually outside, whatever the weather! So the most important thing is to dress for the conditions. I prefer rugged and remote locations, so high heels are maybe not the best idea!

Natural colours are always better, try to avoid unnatural bright colours and eye-catching patterns.

Can I purchase prints and albums?

Yes, I offer a wide range of high quality albums and prints for an additional cost. First you will receive a full gallery of high quality photos to download. Then you are able to purchase prints directly through your client portal. For an album, I will work with you to create your ideal album.

Are you available outside of Devon?

Absolutely! I love to travel. My pricing includes travel throughout Great Britain.

What equipment do you use?

I use industry standard wedding photography equipment. This includes two Sony A7 III cameras, which have back-up SD card slots and a silent shutter (so no annoying camera noises during your ceremony!)

I mainly use two high quality prime lenses: an 85mm 1.4F for portraits, and a 35mm 1.8F lens for wide shots. In addition to this, I use the most reliable SD cards and external hard drives. I edit on Adobe Lightroom and store photos on the cloud for additional security.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you decide to cancel, any monies paid to me so far is non-refundable. For example, if you've paid the deposit, and then decide to cancel, you would unfortunately lose the deposit.

If I cancelled (due to illness or some other unavoidable factor) you would recieve a full refund and I would help find a replacement photographer. With that said, this has never happened, and I hope it never will!

For full cancellation policy, please see your wedding photography contract.

How long will it take to receive my photos?

Once I shoot your wedding, I will always edit and deliver it before my next wedding. This means you have my full attention for the days and weeks surrounding your wedding.

For this reason I guarantee you will receive photos within 1 month of your wedding day, however often it will be sooner.

What is the payment schedule?

I ask for £200 up front in order to secure your date.

Following this, 50% of the remaining balance is due 6 months before your wedding day.

And then the final 50% of the remaining balance is 1 month before your wedding day.

Are you insured?

Yes I have public liability insurance up to the value of £1 million.

How do you colour grade photos?

I edit every single photo by hand - this is a slow and painstaking task, but one that I feel is an important part of my artistic process. I will never use any AI to automatically edit a wedding gallery!

I use Adobe Lightroom to colour grade my images according to my own editing style, which I'd describe as natural, yet cinematic. Please refer to my portfolio to get a good idea of what this looks like!

Do you use Photoshop?

Like almost every professional photographer, I will occasionally use Adobe Photoshop to edit certain images. Usually this is to remove distracting objects, for example if there was a bright green fire exit sign in the back ground during your ceremony. If you'd like something Photoshopped feel free to ask!

Do you provide images in black and white?

I will provide every photograph in both colour and black and white. So you will receive at least two versions of every image.
